Art, Comix, Food, and Other Random Silliness
Here is a new comix I started a while back. I’m not sure when exactly. Probably about a year ago. I had 3 pages done and this is it. I’ll have more pages of this one in a couple of weeks. I’m going to be rotating between comix I’ve been working on. Next week will be 3 new pages of Bang Bang Goes Hunter.
One of the books I’ve been reading since last year was RASL vol. 1. I use to read a lot of Bone when I was in the 9th grade I think and I was in a class that had these old issues of Disney’s Adventures Magazine. I later revisited Bone when I bought the first volume. RASL is nothing like Bone though.
RASL is Jeff Smith doing a comic because he wants to. I don’t think RASL is nearly as big as Bone is as far as marketability. It’s sexy, smart, mildly funny, and action packed.
RASL is about a former physicist turned art thief the jumps through parallel universes using technology from Tesla and string theory. RASL, the main character, is haunted by how he got into his current circumstances and now his past is trying to pull him back in the form of an agent of the company he once worked for. His only companion is a whore who he has befriended.
I’ve only read the first volume but I want to read the second as soon as I can get a hold of it. The end of the first volume kind of leaves you hanging and wanting to see what happens next to RASL and whether he’ll continue to be a thief or if his past will control his future. I think it’s a more intriguing series then what I’ve read of Bone
